What does it mean to be a vegan?
– A vegan is an individual whose diet doesn’t consist of any animal products whatsoever. Someone who consider themselves as a vegan has a diet that consists of Earth foods and whole grains that contribute to a holistic lifestyle.
What inspired you to become a vegan?
– I became very sick in 2011 and I began transitioning to vegetarianism and eating fibrous foods. I then had a conversation with my best friend Troy who has been a vegan for a few years already and I’ve always wanted to stop eating meat. I felt like I couldn’t do it. From February 2011 to October 2012 I would get sick because I started eating more and more greasy food. I was addicted! That October I was hospitalized and I became a pescatarian. One day in January of this year I woke up one day with this strong feeling and said that’s it I am tired of consuming junk that constantly makes me sick. The rest is history……
I want to become a vegan but I am not sure if I have the will-power to commit to a meat-less lifestyle; any tips?
– I suggest reading a few enlightenment books, practicing yoga and meditating. Why do I suggest this? I suggest this because it will help you clear your mind of negative thoughts whilst you are trying to enter into a holistic lifestyle. Before doing anything I would recommend mentally preparing yourself for the next step you are going to make. This helped me so much while I was transitioning to pescatarian and prior to me waking up and deciding I want to become a vegan; I was preparing myself on a weekly basis.
